Ninety-five percent of adults who are exposed to Hepatitis B clear the virus. The only way to tell if someone has been exposed to Hepatitis B is through blood testing.
When you say you are a "low level" carrier I assume you mean your Hepatitis B blood viral load is low. In that case, you are likely one of the lucky few whose immune system keeps the virus at bay, and at the same time does NOT attack the liver. In that case, you are at a very low risk of passing the virus on to your girlfriend. Additionally, many people in highschool get vaccinated for Hepatitis B. Did she get vaccinated?
