Financing hep B antivirals
Hi there;

I am from Europe and i am a life-long chronic hep B carrier, under "Viread" on a once a day basis. Purchased an individual health insurance coverage before i was diagnosed and i don't pay anything for my medics.

Lately, found out Viread 300 mg - 30 tablets - costs 384 € which makes §500 plus and stopped complaining about my monthly one hundred bucks premium right after.

I don't know what it is overseas. Can somebody break it down for me?

Heard government programs doesn't cover everybody as one may pay up-front a part of the total cost regardless of insurance status. Just wondering cause this drug's cost is roughly affordable....

Hi Dave I recently received a diagnoses of chronic Hep B virus and am taking Viread 300mg for a month. Under my insurance plan I'm paying $60.00 for a 30 pill amount.

is this the best insurance plan you can get out there in NY cause it definitely still sounds expensive - $720 a year not to mention the amount of your aggregate premiums....

Dave I am now using Caremark, an online service to get my Viread. It's little less expensive at $150 for a 90 day supply versus $180 for a 90 day supply at a pharmacy.

I went to see the doctor last week and my blood work #'s have improved greatly but have to take Viread for another 5-6 months, possibly more.

Kudos for your improvement. Make it last...

As far as i am concerned i was told i reached stage 3 plus fibrosis last week which is a pretty bad news given the fact stage 4 means first grade of cirrhosis. Hepatologist also told i could make my way down to lower stages but he made it clear i will have to take my VIREAD for at least four more years.
