testing for Hep B

I was just wondering why is it that Hep B is not among the standard STD tests in the UK? I've recently had an STD check done and they tested for chlamydia, gonorrhea, HIV and syfillis. Then few weeks later, I went for another STD test to a different clinic and they asked me if I also want a test for Hep B so I said yes why not... and although the results were all negative, I started to wonder:
1. why did they offered Hep B test at the other clinic
2. was there enough time for anything to be picked up from a possible exposure to it?

I am worried that might have been infected with it - do I need to retest?
