I have been on the Forum for sometime and have been reading a lot of stuff in relation to HIV/Aids
about my story ,
I am 30 male , was in a relationship for 5 years long distance ,things didn't work out and we got seperated
I lost the grip on reality after that and started having sexual encounters . had sex with 10-15 sex workers( all woman) in a span of 2-3 months the craziness came to an end
when I came down with a sore throat followed by fever with chills and couple of days i had sweats in the night ,inflamed ear and a swollen lymph node in the neck Doctors ran all kinds of tests for viral infections couldn't detect anything intially the put me on amoxylin and then Augumentine
no relief from fever for 3 weeks . after 3 weeks fever is gone but i realized i lost almost 7-8 kilos and now I am having diarreah .all the symptoms point to one thing HIV from what i read till now .
I had all std tests done in the second week after my last encounter came negative got another one done at 4 weeks came back negative .
I am restless keep crying in the night . I feel dejected
I am seeing a ID specialist who is running all kinds of tests , He sent blood for viral load last week
results will come this week
I am scared to death . I live away from family and loosing it .
I feel there is very little hope that i will be HiV negative . please send some good karma my way and pray for me . please need some encouraging words and support
There are lots of viruses that can cause similar symptoms, particularly Epstein Barr Virus=mono, hepatitis virus, parovirus, and cytomegalovirus. Do you know if you were tested for those? Sometimes testing is done too soon and a false negative can occur, like in the early stage of mono. I'm sure the ID DR will get to the bottom of it, but I would really caution you not to jump to the worst case scenario. Were these encounters with protection? If so, that should give you some reassuance that it is something else. What is the timeline of events between the last encounter and first signs of illness? If the incubation period doesn't fit, that should be reassuring as well. I do hope you get good news from the Dr this week, and can sleep better knowing there are all kinds of other possibilities.

Yes they have tested me for all the possible viruses, Id spec is running all the tests again as they were done previously by my GP .
all my encounters were protected , never had unprotected sex maybe a brief unprotected oral couple of times ,I hope I am not the one unlucky guy to have contracted the disease with oral sex.
the last encounter I had wan on the 15 th of sept and i fell sick from the 18 th sept
when I look at myself in the mirror I feel scared as i lost so much weight .
I am praying hard that i get one chance to correct my mistakes .
