Has anyone had A TT because of a hernia? My doctor has scheduled me for a second hernia operation in May. The first did not last due to weak muscles. He said I need a TT in order for the hernia repair to be effective. I was referred to a PS. He told me I was about 30 lbs over the ideal weight for the surgery. I now am working on losing the weight. In the mean time the 'incisional'hernia keeps popping out. (very annoying). Also how long is the hospital stay? I understand I will have a couple of drains in place for a few days, and then a special 'garment' afterwords. I was told the operation is painful and I would not be able to stand stright for a short while. Also recovery requied that I lay with my legs elivated. This all sounds a little scary. I've had two C sections, a hysterectomy and a bladder repair. So I understand what pain is. It it as painful as any of these?
