Exclamation Does this mean that I have a hernia?

I'm really scared right now. I think that I have a hernia on my testicles. Just yesterday I was squating at the gym and my testicles started feeling uncomfortable. I didn't pay much attention to it because I thought that it would go away soon after. But tonight it still feels uncomfortable when I walk. My left testicle is the one the bothers me and my right one feels fine. Tonight I was looking up how to diagnose hernia and it said that you have to feel them and cough. So I did that on my left testicle and it seemed perfectly fine. Then I tried it on my right one (the one that doesn't bother me) and there's a peice of meat there connected to it that feels like a thread basically it's very thin and then I hold it and I cough and I feel it getting bigger. I got so scared. Does this mean that I have a hernia? My right testicle is also bigger than my left. Is that due to me having a hernia? I'm very scared right now. Please help. I'm 15 years old if that helps.

Re: Does this mean that I have a hernia?

Hey bud, first...you might not be able to feel a hernia like that. You would be in pretty intense pain and walking or sitting would be really uncomfortable (most likely) One testicle is usually a bit larger than the other and one hangs a bit lower in the sack. My bet is this is a strain as a result of your workout. However, if the pain continues....see a doc. Its best to have things checked out and know what is going on down there. In some cases, hernias can be really bad. Give it a day or two and if things aren't better...get to the doc. Oh and by the way...lay off the lifting for few days too! Ok to work chest, biceps etc...but no leg work or squats!

Thumbs up Re: Does this mean that I have a hernia?

Thank you so much for your reply. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. I thought it was a hernia but I feel no discomfort at all when I sit down and right now I've been walking and I feel very very little to no discomfort at all. I again I want to thank you very much for your help.

Also wearing a jock when you work out might help.

Hey bud, you're welcome. Probably just a bit of a pull or strain, happens to the best of us in the gym when we're trying to get all impressive!
