| Paraesophageal hernia
So I had a Nissen Fundo done in January, and had a hiatal hernia repaired then too. I was doing well up until about 3 weeks ago. I started having a weird sensation in my chest on the left side where it felt congested and it felt like something was rolling when I moved. So I saw my surgeon and he did an EGD scope and said the wrap looked fine, but ordered an Upper GI, which I had today, and it showed a large paraesophageal hernia. I was told that these need surgical repair because they can strangle easily. So I am really upset about this, all the while I am dealing with possible thyroid cancer. So to be told I have to have surgery again was a real bummer. Has anyone ever had one of these before? And if so, can you shed some light on it for me. Thanks so much in advance!
