L5-S1 Herniation recovery and sports

Hi all,
I herniated my l5-s1 disk about 4 weeks ago. There is still a lot of pain in my right foot, leg and lower back. Had a mri done and saw a neurosurgeon last week with a follow up later this week. The Doc said that with giving it just time to heal there is a 20-25% chance of the same disk re-herniating. Now, I practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and it's a pretty rough sport. and I'm concerned that the chance of re-herniating the disk would be even higher. Something I don't want to do is go through this long recovery and then have it re-herniate and go through another recovery when I could have had it fixed good the first time.

The Doc also said how the disk was herniated the L5-S1 would have to be fused together.
