| Inguinal Hernia Recurrence
I posted this here because I know inguinal hernia is common in men. I had open inguinal hernia repair with mesh almost three years ago. I did not have a good experience. I have chronic pain and a stitch granuloma which I deal with on a daily basis. I have found out through ultrasound that the hernia has recurred. The hernia was asymptomatic before repair so all the pain and discomfort I deal with was caused by having the surgery in the first place. I am not very motivated to rush back into the operating room. Does anyone have any suggestions? If I would have known about "watchful waiting" I would have never had it repaired. But now having mesh in there and a recurrence I dont know what to do. I am worried surgery will make me worse like it did before.
