| Possible Hernia?
Hi Everyone - I am an overweight female who had an open colon resection 6 months ago. Also had laparascopic gall bladder surgery 5 yrs ago and have been diagnosed with a sliding hiatal hernia that so far, has not really given me much trouble. However, for almost a week, I've started to have unusual sensations about 6" above the top of the incisional scar. No pain or protruding bulge - just an occasional slight "pushing" sensation when I'm active. Sometimes, if pushing my stomach out, I think that there is a slight swelling or bulge in the area (which may have always been there) but mostly, it just feels like "internal" stretch marks (of which I have several) or scar tissue. Not to be too graphic but I do find that I am slightly more gassy in the last week and wonder if that is related to the problem or if it could be the start of an incisional/abdominal hernia.
