C3 C4 Disc Rupture

I am 57 years old male. Couple of months back had car accident which resulted in severe neck pain. For about 20 minutes hands and legs were paralysed but then slowly slowly movements came back, except for the numbness in both arms, and current like radiates in the legs if the head is tilt back. MRI results shows C3 C4 disc rupture with overlying cord malacia over corresponding segments (as per Report). Doctors, I am under treatment advice ACDF with grafting to remove pressure over cervical cord. The hospital I am entitled for treatment have other patients qued up so it might take 3 to 4 months for my turn. Any advice regarding precautions to be taken or some excercise to be done until the operation will be highly appreciated.
