Hernia Surgery and Masturbation? - Hernia Message Board

I had hernia surgery today in my right groin. I got the hernia from strainning too much at the gym.
I am in pain tonight but on pain pills. I am also a very sexual person.....if not with a partner with myself. My question that I was too embarassed to ask my doctor is how long do I have to wait after the hernia surgery before I can masturbate without hurting myself? If their are any guys out there who have gone throught this i'd really appreciate some advice.

I had an inguinal hernia repaired back in 1996. I believe four days later I was back to masturbating, only because the doctor wanted a semen sample.

If you try it, be careful not to strain yourself. Give yourself time to heal up! Take it easy for awhile.

I think you'll be able to tell if your ready when you try it, I tried the third day and felt uncomfortable, not really hurting, but thought I should wait a few more days, the 5th day had a big load to get rid of and had no pain, hope this helps.
