Laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair 4 weeks ago

Still have a "pocket/lump" that has a deep burning sensation that doesn't seem to want to go away. Feels real tender when I move just right. Had the lump (which does seem smaller) when I went back to the doctor a week after repair but had no pain then. Doc said the lump was blood or fluid from procedure. He said it could take 4 to 6 weeks to heal. Didn't think I would still have pain after 4 weeks.

Has this happen to anyone else? Any suggestions on if there is anything I should do? Thanks-----

Hi, it may be inflammation due to surgical procedure but get check up from your surgeon. I had surgery 32 years back and it took several months to return normal but Mr hernia was very large and old surgical method used (means big incision)
Happy healing

I had pain for several months after mine, which was a traditional non mesh repair. Eventually it became non existent, but it did take a long time for it to completely heal up. I was mostly pain free within 2 to 3 months. I don't think I was totally 100% pain free for several months.

Definitely get checked if you are experiencing bad pain 4 weeks out.
