I recently began to worry about having HSV after a girl I have slept with a few times told me her roommate had contracted herpes last year (I know, you can't get it from toilet seats, etc but I am a worry wart). She told me that she went out and got tested and came back negative when she began a relationship with another person.

I chose to get tested just to set my mind at ease. I have never had an outbreak but do have occasional bouts of prostatitis (chronic prostate infection) that have *some* symptoms in common with HSV (groin area/testicle pain, painful urination, etc).

I had an IGG and IGM test done.

Here are the results:

IGG Type 1: .14
IGG Type 2: .73

IGM: <1.10

I had these tests done by **************.com. It looks to me that I have tested negative for each test. Am I correct in assuming this? I believe the index for type 1 and 2 are <.90 = negative and <1.10 for IGM. I have been doing some reading and even though the .73 is close to the .90 mark (.90-1.10 is equivocal) it should be considered that there was no reaction to the presence of the virus antibodies (I.E. there were non, not "a few").

I have not been with this woman since June (>12 weeks).

Should I stop worrying? Do you guys think that there is a need to get retested in the future?
