Re: White Spots In Throat - Herpes?
From what i have heard, and I know this is weird, but that herpes "prefers" the outside of the mouth rather than the inside. I'm not sure why, but I remember seeing that on some medical site. It was something about differentiating between cold sores and canker sores.
The doc probably knows what he's talking about and herpes sores would weep after a few days and my guess is that open sores in the back of your throat would hurt more than any sore throat you'd ever had in your whole life, so you would notice it. But given that it could be something else, (I'm not sure about the symptoms of other STDs in the mouth), it might be worth just leaving a message for the doctor or nurse to call you back and then you can mention it to them and see what they think. They might recommend just a throat culture, a blood test, or whatever just to be safe.
I'm sure you've realized this already, but oral sex is not safe sex and you could still get something worse than herpes if you don't protect yourself (I don't mean to preach or anything, but please be safe. That's something a lot of us wish we had done before we ended up here!)
