whats the chances of spreading herpes the day before a outbreak with no symptoms?.. - Herpes Message Board

We had sex Tuesday Night..by wen. night I had a small cut..
(which that is the way my herpes outbreaks look like.) I do not have the blisters that everyone talks about. anyway..I wore tight jeans wen. and I am wondering if that could have started this outbreak..I did not have any signs telling me I was going to have a this..she does not have herpes..so my question is this..Is the chance of her getting this pretty high? Not to mention ..I am on 500 mg of Valtrex a day everyday. Doesn't that lower her chances of getting it even if there is a outbreak?..Isn't the actual sore..or blister what is contagious? She knows about this.. I am not hiding anything from her..I am just worried for her sake.Any response will be appreciated.

Well, at least you didn't hide anything from your partner. She knew the risk, especially if you decided not to use added protection (condoms).

You both made a decision to take a chance. I'm sure you know that even with valtrex medication you can infect another during sex. You're right that the chances are lower, but it's not zero.

Hopefully, she's fine. However, maybe next time you should play it more safe by also using condoms.

She doesn't necessarily have it. Really, you'll just have to wait and see. Sometimes we people with herpes don't notice a very small ob at first. It's taken me a long time to be sure I know. Now I always do a check before doing anything sexual--I look at myself with a magnifying mirror and I gently touch around, making sure nothing stings or is tender. i also had to give up the tight jeans and tights (sigh.)
