Going backpacking! - Herpes Message Board

I'm leaving tomorrow for a week-long backpacking trip, and when I get home I will be planning school for the boys and wrapping up some summer projects, so please--if you don't hear from me for a while, don't think it's that I've dropped off the board. Y'all give me a lot of necessary encouragement and comfort, not to mention information and laughs. I'll be back in a couple of weeks. Keep up the great work!

Thanks, orn. I'm back, and I had a great time. Mostly I was alone, and did a lot of thinking and letter-writing and memorizing poetry and reading and sorting things out. Plus I got to see a black bear come down a tree about 10 feet from me!

I read one of your posts, orn, that said you were feeling down, getting another ob. I hope you are better...remember that cycles are natural, down and then up, sick and then healthy. So mostly in the bad times we just have to do our best and be (ugh!) patient.

Glad you had a good time...I've thought about you, while you were gone. Relaxing is good and it's always nice to get away! Now, do you know of anywhere, that I can "buy" some patience??? This is probably one of the biggest things, that I lack. Maybe, it's a test. Your right herpes, does have it's up & downs....I'm just frustrated with my ob's....It seems that I'm ok, for a little while and then they come back. It's a vicious cycle, that takes my mood with it...And I really don't consider myself a moody person, but w/H I am extremely moody and hormonal and all of the above. I feel like I'm forever trying to find a "balance", maybe it's the Libra in me, probably. I'm just wondering of my ob's with become less frequent with time. Thanks for your kind thoughts, as always.....I appreciate you & your posts....

I totally understand about the patience thing. I am the same way. I have pretty much accepted the fact that I have H. It's just those damned ob's that I can't accept!! I mean, why can't they just happen that one "initial" time-just to let you know that you have it and then just go away forever!? Oh well, I guess it's just not supposed to be like that. Until there is a cure, I guess my best friend will be Valtrex.

On a lighter note though, I do enjoy reading your posts, orn and yours too, backpacker! Y'all really have a way of looking at H with a good sense of humor and light-heartedness! I know I'm kinda new here, but y'all's posts are the best! Thanks!!
