Re: everyone calls me names

love2draw88,

First of all, let me say how sorry I am that these ignorant, foolish, and rude girls are being hateful to you. It's not like you asked for this. My advice (and it's strictly mental) is to just keep reminding yourself how ignorant these girls are being. That is just strictly ignorance they are displaying. What do they know? Nothing. For all they know, they could have this or some other STD. I would just ignore them like you have been doing. I'm not gonna tell you that I know how you feel as far as the taunting is concerned. No one knows I have it except my boyfriend. But if I was in your situation, whenever they came up to me or walked by me with their insults, I would just roll my eyes like "whatever" and just move on. Like I said, what do they know? Ummmm......nothing. They know nothing about you-the REAL you and THAT is what matters-the REAL you, okay?? Keep your head up!!!

Just curious, how did they find out you had it?

Re: everyone calls me names

I know how you feel, my friends make fun of herpes all the time. Sometimes they'll say stuff about a girl and be like "eww, that girl is nasty, I heard she has herpes...i wouldn't let my dog eff her"...stuff like that. I just keep quiet and don't say anything even though it definitely hurts my feelings (they don't know that I have it).

I just don't know what to tell you since the cat is already out of the bag. Herpes has a terrible stigma attached to it...and well, that isn't going to change anytime soon. In the future, just make sure you only tell people when it is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY (like a doctor, or future partner). I haven't told a soul...except for the girl who infected me.

Good luck.

Re: everyone calls me names

Really it's the kind of girls they are. They are not friends, so why care what they say? they are below contempt. I have told quite a few people (of course, I'm not in High school where the teasing is bad) and never gotten a bad reaction. But then, I've chosen my friends carefully for years. I'm interested only in people of quality, sensitivity, loyalty, and good will. Those kind of people are out there, even in high school. They may be others who are being teased ********sly, or who keep themselves apart from others. Maybe you could use this situation as a springboard to find yourself some true friends. Or maybe you could take a little time to center yourself by doing all the things you love to do (hey! I've always loved to draw!), pulling into yourself for a while, learning who you are and what makes you the best you can be. And then look around for the people who are not interested in mean, childish behavior like teasing. Good luck.
