| Re: New to the virus
Listen, go down into the kitchen, get the smallest container you can find that has a tight-fitting lid, and one clove of fresh garlic (that is, one section of a whole head of garlic which you can buy in the produce section of the grocery store, and some extra virgin olive oil--it's expensive, but you dont need much. Peel the garlic clove and cut it into quarters. Put it in the container. Cover it with olive oil. Put the lid on and take it to your bathroom. After about 2 hours or so, you can gently apply some to your sores with a q-tip. Just dab it on lightly and don't rub, or it will hurt. You can do this any number of times a day, whenever you want. If anyone mentions the garlic smell, say you've been craving Italian food.
This garlic oil will soothe those sores. It helped me be able to jog and carry a heavy pack in the mountains even at the height of my ob's. (But none are as bad as the first.) Garlic is antiseptic, antiviral, and antibiotic.
When your ob goes away, throw this out and next time--if there is a next time; hopefully not!--you can make some more, ready in two hours. It is cheap and works well.
I'm sorry about your dad. Parents don't always know how to handle things right. You just keep doing the best you can, be the best person you can be. You can't live up to his rules and fantasies of the perfect child. Just be what you yourself define as a good person. For me, being a good person has little to do with your sexual choices, but for my parents, it does. You make your own choices, and believe in yourself...and try to be understanding--try to understand that your father is just a human, and right now he feels that somehow he didn't do the right thing as a parent, or you wouldn't have gotten h. It's hard for parents to detach from their kids sometimes. But eventually, he'll accept it--just as eventually the ob's won't be so bad, and you will learn a routine for dealing with h, so that you can go about your life.
Read a whole lot of the threads on this board, especially "Happy Couples." Peace and hope!
