Inner ear and Herpes
I have recently been dealing with some pretty freaky inner ear stuff which has left me dizzy foggy and generally miserable. I have a suspicion that it is the result of and HSV-1 flare up in my vestibular nerve ganglia. I have gotten cold sores since I was four and they were really, really bad throughout grade school. For the past few years, my outbreaks were minor and only happened a few times a year but this fall, when all my wierd brain fog/disconnected feeling started happening, I got back to back outbreaks of monstorus proportions. So my question is if anyone else has ever dealt with a viral inner ear infection caused by the Herpes Simplex virus and if so, how did it go for you? Has anyone ever experienced three weeks (or sometimes much longer) symptoms of foggy/dizzy/lightheaded/living in a dream type feelings that they were never really able to explain? Maybe herpes is the cause.
p.s. as if getting painful ugly cold sores wasn't enough, now herpes has screwed with my inner ear and nervous system. I really hate this virus.
