I started getting cold sores a few years back. It was probably 6 months to a year, or maybe more, after a questionable sexual encounter. I was extremely stressed during this period, and got stomach pains for all my stress.
If I really pay attention to the blossoming ones I can cut them off quickly now, and they go away much speedier. I only get them when I get a cold, but I must get them 1 or 2 times a year. I have to admit they do worry me.
Are there any links out there that can answer my question? I'm wondering if I should be worried about the coldsore outbreaks that began occuring only about 4 years ago. I never had them when I was a kid.
If it helps you any, i rarely got them as a kid and began getting more of them in my late teens and i had not had any forms of sexual encounters at at this stage.
Mine was due to a low immune system. When i would get run down, not enough good sleep, too much sun at the start of summer, basically things like that would cause a cold sore to break out on my lip.
I take a course of lysine off and on throughout the year and i also take two garlic capsules every day. I also will take a course of multivitamins, then have a break from them, then later on if i'm getting run down i'll go back and take another course.
With my gential herpes type 2 i have found garlic oil to be my best friend. I'm so glad i stumbled across the thread on here about how garlic is so helpful.
You get cold sores (herpes orally) from someone else who has it. They do not have to be having an ob at the time, at least not a noticeable one. Probably you got it from kissing or sharing utensils with someone. It can lay dormant for years and years until you go through a stressful time. You can transmit it to someone else, either to their mouth, face, genitals, or other body parts, so be careful.
