A question about pregnancy and herpes.

say a mother has herpes simplex 1 and is pregnant could she give it to her baby? even if the baby is born c-section?

yes. a c-section significantly reduces the risk, but there are cases where babies delivered surgically also developed neonatal hsv.

it can (and has) happened in both situations,

if you would like more info, please feel free to ask. my twins contracted neonatal (or congenital) hsv-1.
Mom to two HSV-1 survivors!
