I had a small, painful, itchy outbreak in the middle of my back. I went to the dermatologist & she told me it was herpes simplex. She gave me a prescription for Valtrex or Zovirax (cant remember which one) but it cleared up quickly. Over the past few years Ive had several outbreaks in this exact area. They were close together, but now are about 6-9 months apart, sometimes longer. I began to have more recurrent outbreaks during my pregnancy & I noticed new area's of skin outbreaks on my back? I was treated with valtrex. Well this week, I have a new outbreak on my back but this is a new area (above my left buttocks on my back)

I wonder how I got Herpes Simplex on my back?
I also wonder why Im having outbreaks in new areas??

Help?
