I can't be a part of it b/c i have HSV1. It's probably not likely many here would be able to participate since you have to be seronegative for both types.
But the doctor leading the study treated my boys for neonatal herpes. What questions did you have about it? The vaccine has actually already been "discovered" and found to be effective in women with no prior exposure to either type of HSV. The idea is that they can vaccinate girls in their preteen years (10-13) in the hopes of decreasing the incidence of HSV-2. Dr. Stanberry's big thought on that is that it could also help lower the rate of neonatal herpes.
Definately try and prevent any of your daughters from hsv-1 exposure as young children so that they will be cantidates for the vaccine when it is approved.
