can anyone help with questions?

I was reading a post and saw that someone mentioned that when they feel run down they take an extra does of air borne at night and my question was does anyone else feel like they are run down everytime they get an OB? I told my doctor that everytime right before I have an OB I feel run down and fatigued. My doctor told me it wasn't possible because you only feel run down the very first time you contract it. Does anyone else feel this way?

Re: can anyone help with questions?

Sounds like your doctor knows about as much about herpes as the rest of the doctors which isn't a whole lot. Obviously your doctor does not suffer from herpes and doesn't know a darn thing about it I've pretty much felt run down since November until just last month I've started feeling human again

Re: can anyone help with questions?

I'm the Airborne addict!!
I often wonder if the "run down scenario" is really a matter of the chicken or the egg. Are we run down because we are having an outbreak . . . a side effect of it. Or do we have an outbreak because we are run down.

I always feel really fatigued right before I get an outbreak its like a really intense tiredness. It is different to other tired feelings I have - like if I've had a late night or done lots of exercise etc. I have also wondered about the chicken and the egg theory - Is it being run-down that causes an out break or the out break that makes you feel run down. I now believe (after nearly 5 years sice I was diagnosed with herpes) that when I have an out break, which at the moment is on average 4 times a year, it starts off with this intense tiredness - and it it the virus causing the fatigue and not the other way around. I have been really run down with the flu and stressed out from exams and not had any problems so there is no pattern there for me. The only pattern I have found is I will often have an outbreak if I have been out drinking alcohol.

Re: can anyone help with questions?

Thank-you so much for your replies. At least I know its not all in my head. I was diagnoised about 5 years ago but suspect I've had it for much longer, about 10 years probably. To the last reply, I agree, it is a much different kind of tired. I get so tired that I can't even think right. It's very annoying!!
