Hi all.. i just joined up to this great site as i thought after reading through a few dozen posts, that someone may be able to help me.
around march last year, i contracted Herpes off a previous parter; this was when i was 17 and now im 18. i went to see a doctor, got those awefully painful swabs taken to test to see if it was herpes and it was. i got the tablets that they prescribed for me, and took them till i was halfway done with them. i stopped taking them and i never had another outbreak. the only time i did have an outbreak, was when i took one of the prescribed tablets about 4-5 months down the track. im just wondering if the doctor might of got the tests wrong? i havent had any sores or any symptoms resulting in herpes for over a year, as i said above, not even an outbreak.
my life recently hit an alltime high when i met the girl of my dreams. shes 17, myself, im 18. we have been going slowly and recently had un protected sex twice in the past 2 weeks(which was really stupid for me, ive been stressing for days on end). things went a bit rocky when she told me that she had herpes as well, and at the same time, i admitted i had it. she explained to me that she contracted it about the same time i did off an ex and since, has only had acouple of outbreaks.
from my current understanding, only way to contrac the herpes is from the puss from the sores. if the puss comes in contact with another partners bodily fluids, it is transmitted. is this true? are there any other ways to contract it?
i have slept with 4-5 people since i found out, and they have no contracted it; mainly for the fact that i was going on the information above.
my question to you very considerate people is, what are the chances of an outbreak if both partners have herpes? if both have herpes, does it cancel out the fact of having an outbreak?
since she has told me, ive been really thinking about myself and when i found out i had herpes, but it seems a bit weird that ive never had an outbreak.. is there any cure out there as of late? or any in testing?
thanks and i hope you can help me out
