Sooo Worried - Herpes Message Board

Hey all...I was looking through these boards and I saw them to be very helpful.. Im in such a jam, I dont know what to do, so hopefully I can find some help here...I've been with my ex for 2 yrs now....We broke up in Jan...Got back together in April and broke up again in May...And we just recently got back together in the beginning of this month. During the last breakup, for those 3 months I wasn't with anyone at all...I dont know about him though. We broke up in May b/c he had been cheating on me and was for most of the 2 yrs we were together...I know you'll probably think the dumb one for even being with him now, but we've been through so much together and he's honestly changing now...Anyway, like i said, I hadn't been sexually active in 3 months and have started again with him...Now, the past few days Ive been feeling the burning, itchy sensation "down there"..When I pee it stings sometimes, sometimes it doesn't...Also, sooo sorry TMI, it doesnt smell all too great down there...Now, Im one of the cleanest people you'll meet...I shower AT LEAST 2 times a day, and Im so aware of my hygiene, so I take good care of myself. So this is completely odd to me. And sometimes, when I wipe, there will be tiny drops of blood on the napkin...And I've been completely dry down there as well...I feel sooo much dryer than usual...Also, I saw today, that I had a little slice on the skin...Sort if like when your skin is soo dry and it chaps...A clean cut slice..Very small, but there...I dont have anything, like blisters or warts...I do have a small thing that sorta looks like a teeny weeny mole, but Ive had that for a while now...Ive been tested before and Ive come out clean...My BF says that he doesn't test cause since I came out clean, it'll be the same for me...And he's very scared of getting anything inserted for testing....Either way, I made an appt. for the BOTH of us to get tested...But the earliest date they had was Sept. 8th... Does this sound like Herpes? One of my closest friends was diagnosed with it in February and I dont know what Id do if I had to go through what she has..She's VERY insecure now...I haven't had nothing else wrong, helathwise...No fevers or anything...Thanks in advance for your help!!

It really could be any number of things. Including a simple yeast infection. The best thing to do is get tested. You could get a vaginal cream for the itching/burning. You can get infections if you haven't had sex in awhile & then start having it again.

Of course, if he is sexually active he could have brought something home to you as well.
You have to make him get tested. Just because you are negative doesn't mean he is. I wouldn't have sex with him unless he tests. If he still refuses, he obviously doesn't care enough about you for it to matter.

I couldn't agree more with the above statement....just because you might test negative for something DOES NOT mean he will as well. That is so VERY false. Ignorance is not bliss!! I've just learned the hard way myself as I'm waiting for my test results to come back next week sometime...have been tested for herpes....and here I thought I was "clean" as well because I get tested faithfully every year during my physical examination with my Dr. Meanwhile, I have now only just found out that the typical STD screening does not include testing for herpes UNLESS there are visual signs of sores and/or blisters. I did not know this until a couple days ago so here I sit now, waiting.....I pray the results are negative but it's not looking good. My point is this, some of the STD's (Herpes, chlamydia, etc.) are silent intruders, leaving the person who's just been exposed to the virus completely unaware and never becoming aware either because they've not experienced any physical symptoms or nothing severe enough to raise suspicion.

Pleeeeeeease for your own health and well-being, make this so called "changed" man of yours get himself tested...and be sure to insist on a herpes bloodtest as well, or chances are they will not screen for it at all....and don't forget about HIV testing either!!!
