The fluid in a herpes vesicle is highly contagious, I would not pop it and risk spreading the virus to other areas.

Re: can a herpes bump be popped?

I suppose it's possible you could have herpes since it is common, but it is also VERY common to have an ingrown hair bump or even a small pimple in the genital region that can be popped. Many people that have herpes get different types of rashes or bumps, but more typical bumps are hard red or white bumps that don't pop OR you can get actual BLISTERS that may open and leak a thin, clear fluid. Best thing to do is get tested with the HerpeSelect blood test to know for sure if you're experiencing symptoms. Good luck.

Re: can a herpes bump be popped?

o...well i hope its an ingrown hair. i read up on bumps like this it sounds more like a ingrown hair. nut idk i mean it doesnt really hurt unless pressure is put on it and it didnt pop on its on i pressed on it and squeezed it and puss came out then blood. But ive asked the only two partners ive had unprotected sex with and one was tested recently after we had unprotected sex and she didnt have herpes and the other was tested before we had sex and the bump has occured before and it was before i had sex with her and she doesnt have it either so idk.

Re: can a herpes bump be popped?

Herpes is easy to recognize. It is in a form of blisters first that may ooze clear liquid or even bleed but then it scabs and it goes away. If pus came out from your bumps, it could be folicullitis, or an ordinary pimple.
