Question Question about spouse

Hi
I just found out yesterday after I could barely walk and could not pee without being in a bathtub that my doctor thinks I have herpes. He did a swab and I will not know anything for a week. Here's the problem: I have been married 16 years and completly faithful to my dh. He says he has also. Do you think He is lying? I have never had any other symptoms and till now. Thanks for all the info! Coming here has been so helpful.
God Bless.

Re: Question about spouse

Hey Sunshine,
Sorry, about the symptoms that you're having, the first ob is always the worst!
If either one of you has had a previous partner, prior to the 16 yrs. of marriage, then either of you could of contracted herpes then. Sometimes, this virus can lay dormant, before showing up as an outbreak. Perhaps, he should get tested (by blood) as well, so you know if he has it.
Good luck, hang in there and herpes does get easier with time. In the beginning for me - it was an emotional/mental roller coaster ride from hell. Read around on this board and elsewhere, to learn as much as you possibly can about this virus, it will help you deal better with it. -Orn

Re: Question about spouse

Another possibility is if your husband has had fever blisters(herpes 1 or 2 usually type 1) there is a possibility that he's given you herpes from oral sex. But they do say that herpes can remain dormant and stress, hormones, illness etc. can kick it into full gear. I was just reading how it sits dormant and then one partner has an OB so often times couples get into a huge problem because they often accuse the other of being unfaithful. Your husband could just as easily assume that you are the one being unfaithful. Since you are the one with the symptoms it would only be logical to assume that YOU are the unfaithful one...well since YOU know that you are NOT unfaithful then.....well see how easily it is to suspect!!!!! So what I'm saying is don't assume he's unfaithful!
