Hi. I have been terribly worried for he past few days. A few nights ago i gave oral sex to my GF, and when i woke up i had a cold sore forming above my lip. Now i have been getting cold sores for as long as i can remember about once a year. What i am terrified of is if i could have gave it to my GF. She has never gotten a cold sore before, and this is her first time being sexually active. During the time of the oral sex there were no sores present. I know that you guys are not doctors, but do you think it is likely she could have contracted herpes type 2? Well I know it is a possibilty, but is it highly likely? The thought of giving the girl i love herpes is really eating away at me, i dont know what to do, and feel helpless. thanks

She wont get Herpes 2 from oral sex, but she could get herpes 1 genitally. I contracted HSV 1 genitally from my bf who performed oral sex, and later broke out. The tricky thing is you are contagious when cold sores come out, but also in the "prodome" stage right before it, which you wont ever know youre contagious. I learned the hard way... Oral sex is not a good idea if a person suffers from cold sores!
