Red face Burning groin and thighs

For the past five days I have had a burning sensation in my groin and inside of thighs.....started with what I thought was a pimple on the head of my penis...went to the urologist and he said it wasn't anything to be concerned about....worrying about it the next day brought on a panic attack that triggered the groin/thigh burning sensation.....have had flu like symptons, burning thigh and groin and loss of appetite for past 5 days (flu part seems to have subsided).....the day of the panic attack a small lesion developed on a nerve on the penis shaft....it was a lesion that did not look like a blister.....went to the doctor on day two after burning and he thought it was herpes and prescribed acyclovir....am taking 200 mg @ 5 times per day....have been on it for 2.5 days and do not see any improvement....started taking clonazepan for panic attacks two days ago and this helps with the panic but the pain remains.....each morning I wake up with a panic attack and groin/thigh pain.....last herpes attack was over 5 years ago and others in past were just nuisance lesions on shaft that went away in a week..... Is what I'm going through symptomatic of herpes?? For those who have had the burning how long typically before it subsides? Really appreciate all the help I can get to get over this physiological and psychological event.

I am a female. My 1st outbreak alsmost 2 yrs ago I still have burning in my thighs and buttoicks. my leg can also be involved as well as my hip and toe. It seems to last for days on end it slllooowwwly goes away. I have been put on neuronton (spelling) and now lyica for the pain .. neuronton didn't work for me as I had several side effects. Depression was bad for me while on it. Try a antiviral. You just have to wait it out. Sorry that has been my experience. Sometines the pain will last for over a week for me.

Re: Burning groin and thighs

Thanks for your reply.........I am going on a week with the burning thigh and groin... how long did your pain last and how often did it come back? I have had outbreaks before but none with thigh/groin pain....appreciate a response.

Thanks

Re: Burning groin and thighs

Just my opinion here, but if you have herpes, and this doesn't seem "normal" to you, it may not be herpes related. I'd go back to the doctor...or maybe even a different doctor. I know he said your pimply-thing (sorry!) was nothing to be concerned about, but I'd be a bit concerned. Your groin pain may not even be related to whatever is occuring on your penis. It could be really serious (whatever is causing your pains). I'd go back to a doctor!

Sometimes the pain is worse than others. I have it right now but it is milder than last month can last 10 days.> Neuralgias is what mine is called. Check with your doctor. Because the virus lives in the nerves. It really hurts!!!!! sitting seems to be worse for me. Take Good Care.
