(If the miss’s already has hsv1 then no harm no foul other than when it shows up again on your male anatomy) (which I’ve heard is not very darn often for that particular strain of the virus)

Well lies lead to lies. Sounds like you will not be able to live with the guilt but how would anyone know you did not get it from your wife. If you can live with the secret, chances are you won't get many OB and it might not be an issue. You might not get next one for a year and should be mild so why would your wife not think you got it from her somewhere along the line? YOu could claim so mild, you never noticed it. Normally I would not recommend you keeping such a secret but for the sake of your marriage sounds like you should...bad enough a wife has to know you've been with another on top of a rocky marriage...if you really want to avoid divorce.

I have to agree with the previous poster, matter of time. I dont really condone lying, but what's done is done and if you are 100% serious about your marriage and you guys have sorted your issues then it could easily be assumed that she gave you the virus at some stage, considering she gets oral herpes. Luck must have been on your side catching type 1 instead of type 2.

The only other thing is, if you guys were having a trial seperation was it simply a seperation or were you allowed to date others? If you were allowed to date others in this time then i don't see the issue with you catching type 1. It was definitely bad luck, but if you guys had an "allowed to date others whilst seperated" policy then i dont see why your wife should want to divorce you.
