You can still get herpes even when using a condom. However I would say don't practice sex during outbreaks. If she uses suppressive therapy and a condom, I think your risk would be less than 10%. That's what my Dr told me. At least you know she has it.
The man I was dating for 3 months lied to me. He had it, denied it, I then ended up Herpes 1 and 2. If he would have been honest, the choice would have been mine.
