Well, we can't turn back time (unfortunately). If we could, I'm sure a few of us would have made different choices.
You've already done the damage and taken the choice away from our partner. You must tell her though, and before you are intimate again. Depending on how committed she is to you, she may or may not accept your reasoning about things moving too fast. If she ends it, that's unfortunate but she has the right to be angry about you not telling her ahead of time and giving her the choice.
I'm going to be a little bit mean here, and say that the excuse doesn't wash with me. Sorry, but if you know you have genital herpes, you tell someone. Things moving too fast.... I'm an adult and I know what sex is like and how we get carried away. But if you were responsible enough to stop and put on a condom, well, you could have stopped and told her.
You came here looking for a solution, but unfortunately there isn't one. You knowing exposed her to the virus without allowing her to make the choice. If you really like her, as you say, then you would have made her aware. For your sake, I hope she accepts and understands your explanation better than I have.
