Since Herpes, Has anyone had more female problems?

Just curious - but has anyone experienced additional problems besides typical outbreaks with UTIs or problems emptying the bladder. Since I was diagnosed with Genital Herpes Type 1 three months ago, I have had constant problems with burning sensations. And now I have a UTI that doesn't want to go away after two weeks of treatment. I was wondering has anyone else experienced more female related problems since having herpes. Does Herpes correlate with increased problems in that area? I never had so many of these problems before.

Thanks

If an OB is occurring on your cervix it can cause painful urination and OBs can last two weeks. Sometimes people get one OB on top of the other and this can cause ongoing urination pain. Maybe you don't have a UTI, just an OB occurring on your cervix.

I just posted a long post about all of the problems I've had for 1 1/2 years. I don't think my case is typical, but I have had NON STOP issues and haven't been totally comfortable or myself since my husband gave me herpes. I went through the first 28 years of my life with never a single "female" problem. Not even a yeast infection. Since the herpes, I've been in constant pain with itching and burning. Right now, I feel like I'm sitting on red hot pins. And, my bladder has been a nightmare. I haven't peed normally since the herpes. I hope to God this gets better. I've gotten to the point several times where I feel like suicide is the only way to stop it. I just want my body back and wish I'd never married my lying husband!

Itneverstops: Oh, honey - I'm so sorry that you have had so many problems. It's only been three months for me and mine seems variable, some days more burning than others, I think it will get better for you. I hope this for myself. We have to try to stay positive. If you really are thinking of suicide, and I am a psychologist in training, please try to seek a therapist. I have one and it is helpful to talk about things. Or there perhaps are support groups in your area to actually attend. The physical pain always reminiscent of the psychological impact of this disease can be endured better with more social support whether it's a friend who can understand or a support group. Although it can be difficult when our cases are atypical from those who seem to have the textbook version of herpes, keep your head up. I've heard through the support group I attended, that after seven years, people's symptoms were significantly less, although I suppose each individual is different. This virus can definitely be a mood killer and it kills my mood when I have the constant nagging pain that want let up.

Have you tried natural homeopathy? You can find specialists in that. I found though that before this UTI that Sepia, a homeopathic remedy seemed to help. I did some research and found this recommended for the burning sensations. You can get it from a natural health store. It's about $10-$12 and you disolve four small pieces under your tongue three times a day. It's chalky and taste like nothing really. It seemed to help me. I say try anything that's not harmful and could help.

Re: Since Herpes, Has anyone had more female problems?

Hi dkw711,

You should do a search using my username in the search box above and see what I and others have written about alternative therapies. What seems to be working a great deal for me is taking Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil supplements. Make sure it's as unrefined as possible, or try just eating the real stuff from a jar and/or using it in your cooking. I take 3 supplements in the morning with food and then three more with food at night and sometimes another 2-3 in the middle of the day, depending on my symptoms. It took a week or more to stop having severe OBs, but I could immediately feel my symptoms stop within 30 min after taking each dose. I did suffer a couple somewhat bad OBs initially after going on it. Sometimes when something is actually working the virus fights back and makes you feel worse, but then if you keep at it, it does get better. Some call this phase the detox phase. You might have to play with the amount you take to see what works best for you. Since the virus is new in your body you might have to fight even harder. It's different for each person, but coconut oil has helped many others with herpes too. I'm sorry for your pain. I know what you're going through and it's taken me TWO years to finally find something that's truly working for me. And I have tried A LOT of things. Taking 6-8 pills of the herb NEEM everyday helps me too, but I seem to have to take more of them than the coco oil pills and the brand I take of the coconut oil now is even better than the brand of it I was taking before. Try spraying HIGHLY diluted foodgrade 32% hydrogen peroxide on your affected areas, or just plain old 3% hydrogen peroxide helps too. Soaking in a bath with it helps too.
