recently i have developed several cuts on my anus. they lok like splits in the skin, something like a razor would do. they are extreemly uncomfortable, burning and itching like mad.
It's possible, but I'd get a doctor to look at it anyway. If it's something else, it should be diagnosed and treated. If it's herpes, you might need to use an antiviral cream or other healing ointment to help the healing. It's a difficult area to heal sores because the skin is constantly being stretched and pushed around. I've had an OB around the anus and it felt like hemmoroids with swelling, but one thing about herpes is that it can look and feel different on each person.
I am actually suffering from the EXACT same thing you are and I'm wondering if its related to my genital herpes too. I was just diagnosed a month ago though and when I was diagnosed it didn't even dawn on me to ask my doctor about the cuts around my anus. From what I've read online, these little cuts are anal fissures and they can be related to genital herpes. How you go about curing them though, I have no idea. I'm actually going to the doctor this afternoon and I'll post back whatever helpful information that I get.
yeah, def let me know what the doc thinks their from. theyre so damn annoying. i just bought some ointment, anusol i believe its called. supposed to stop itching and heal. ill let you know how that works out.
I would think any kind of ointment that contains zinc, camphor, or other wound-healing ingredients, would be helpful, although if the virus is continually reactivating and irritating the area it might not help much. I've found Mecca or Ozonol ointments helpful in healing sores after the virus has done the deed and disappeared.
These sores are real pains in the a_ _, litterely! my husband and I have suffered with herpes for over 23 years. This is how we treat the sores in the bum area. Clean and rinse well with anteseptic soap- if the herpes is blistered and bubbled...break it open. Wincing as I write this Blow area dry with a hairdryer. Swab alcohol on sore! really hurts...but works. Than cover area with babypowder. In 20 some years this is the only thing we have found that heals this hard to treat area. Every time I am about to catch a cold or something I break out with these bum herpes! Yuk!!!!

They're awful, I actually bleed sometimes when I make a bowel movement... feels like razors They're really hard to get rid of, because the area is constantly stretched. Just wanted to let you know that stool softeners are a lifesaver if you have painful bowels due to this. Let us know if you find out anything new!
