Personally I hate coconut so it wouldn't be an issue for me.

But different substances can trigger OBs in *some* people. One of the common herpes websites out there lists coconut as being higher in arginine than lysine, so it could be a trigger food for some people since arginine can often trigger OBs. That's the problem with nuts in general -- high in arginine and low in lysine.
You could test it scientifically by stopping all forms of coconut (meat, oil, etc.), wait until you're OB-free and then eat a bunch and see what happens. I did this twice with a supplement called SAMe (great for depression and arthritis) to find out for sure if it was causing OBs. It was -- like clockwork. I wish the weather was as predictable.

Too bad because it really helped my depression.
