Valtrex & headaches - Herpes Message Board

I went on Valtrex as suppressive therapy due to frequent outbreaks. I had 10 outbreaks in 12 months. About a month after taking the valtrex once day, I started to get wicked constant, headaches.

I did some research and found that 17% of those in clinical trails had headaches, but 15% of the people on the sugar pill (placebo) did too.

Anyone on suppressive therapy have this happened to them too?

I was getting some heavy-duty headaches when I first went on suppressive therapy (using Famvir) but they either went away or my body adjusted enough to ignore them. Either way, I am okay now.

I seem to have headaches everyday now...when before I NEVER got them...
