Questions on ozone therapy and coconut oil

I have been doing ozone treatments almost every day consistently for about two months now. I've been able to cut down the amount of coconut oil supplements I take to just 3 or less per day. I should definitely take at least 3 per day to avoid tingling, pain and to prevent the beginnings of a full OB from starting. I've sort of been experimenting to see if the ozone is working to stop the discomfort, but it's not completely helping, so I still need to take the coconut oil.

No, I don't believe I suffer from neuralgia. I would recommend others with constant discomfort (pain, tingling, soreness, redness, itching, etc) to take 3 pills at a time 3 times a day, preferably with food, but I don't think it seems to make a difference either way. For me I feel it working within 30 minutes. It's that effective for me! Of course, if you already have a sore forming, then only time can let that heal. I get tingling in the bottoms of my feet, and it puts a stop to that, too!

Hope that helps!
Thank you very much for your reply. Can you describe the ozone tx in more detail?

Where do you purchase your coconut oil? I live in a small town and the health store doesn't carry it. I'm very wary of online-purchasing, afraid of buying something contaminated.

What most concerns me is the neuralgia which for the past 2 weeks has been constant! I've had neuralgia on/off for a year, but lately I'm getting worse instead of better. I only knew it was herpes neuralgia when my test came back positive for hsv-2. I went to three doctors before a gyn-onco took me seriously and ran herpeselect. I had a herpes test in college, which was negative, but I don't know if they ran the IgG or IgM or some other test. My partners were tested--they were both negative. I think because my gyn knew the precautions I was taking, plus a visual exam revealed nothing, he didn't think about the herpes angle until now.

I can't tell you how shocked I was/am. My sexual history reads virgins, protected non-virgin (once), clean tests for the other two. I didn't just do the routine STD tests: they both specifically got herpeselect, hepatitis A,B,C, HIV, in addition to the other regular tests. Additionally I demanded to SEE the reports myself so there's no faking the results! I thought I was being sooooo careful. My friends call me neurotic, I know of NO ONE ELSE who bothers to get tested before engaging in intercourse yet *I* am the only one in my very large circle of acquaintances who has herpes. I am proof that unfortunately it CAN happen to anyone. I am having such a hard time with this.

I am pretty sure my most recent ex partner was a false negative because I only started having problems weeks/months after him but aren't false negatives on herpeselect EXCEEDINGLY rare? (I also got HPV from him.) The partner before that was almost three years before him. How likely is it that I've had this for three YEARS when I wasn't taking care of myself and it suddenly decided to surface when I paid great attention to my health and diet?! There's no ignoring the neuralgia. It's quite uncomfortable. It is definitely something I would have felt before and gone to the doctor about.

Do you really think the coconut will help? Do you have any laxative or other side effects? My neuralgia suddenly escalated and I'm worried it's now out of control. I have other neurological problems (unrelated to herpes) that I'm afraid it will exacerbate. I'm not having sex anymore, so I won't take antivirals--the (admittedly little) research I've done says it doesn't help your immune system fight back which is the best thing for all of us.

Can someone help me make sense of this? Thanks.

Re: Questions for Oceanus and others

One more question for Oceanus regarding the coconut oil: it says it supplies caprylic acid, but no mention of monolauric acid, and isn't the latter what we need? Thanks.

Re: Questions for Oceanus and others

Hi,

You can ask your health store to order the product I mentioned. They sometimes will do that. <removed>

If you did recently contract herpes it can take 3-6 months in some cases to show positive on a blood test. It took me 3 tests and 6 months post-exposure to finally have a positive blood test come back. So maybe you could suggest your ex to have another HerpeSelect test after 6 months. However, it can be possible to be a carrier for years with no noticeable symptoms. So you still haven't experienced any visual symptoms, only neuralgia? I would think if that is the case that you might have had herpes for longer than you think, without knowing it. Maybe you confused it with a yeast infection or razor burn, or a pimple. That is what sometimes happens. How long ago do you think you were infected by your most recent partner? Maybe what you think is neuralgia is actually typical prodrome symptoms that one normally experiences (tingling, burning, itching, etc). Sometimes symptoms vary from person to person and in severity and from OB to OB.

Yes, I think coconut oil supplements work. It works for me in a huge way! I wouldn't recommend it unless it worked for me. It may not work for everyone though. That's how herpes is, one thing may work for one person and not for another. When coconut oil is ingested the body transforms it into monolaurin, so the ingredients won't specifically say it contains it.

In regards to the ozone, I'd suggest reading my prior posts by doing a search in the box above with my name. I've written a lot on the subject. I've also mentioned other natural treatments I've tried with some or no effectiveness. It's very useful to read what others have tried and what they suggest works. That's how I decided to try ozone treatments.

Hope that helps!!

Re: Questions on ozone therapy and coconut oil

Thanks again Oceanus. I will ask the store to order it.

The reason I don't think I've had genital herpes type 2 for more than a year is because I'd have recognized (and gone to the doctor) about these symptoms. They are pretty bad and impossible to ignore. Near-constant aching, burning, redness, EXTREME sensitivity, now clitoral pain, fissure/papercut sensations, shooting nerve pain down limbs, buttocks (sometimes can't sit comfortably), feet, hands, and even armpits (is this even possible??!) and before that cervical/vaginal discharge, general irritation downstairs, itching, tenderness, pain. I never once experienced ANY of these problems before my last partner. I went through 26 years of my life with nary a yeast infection and these symptoms show up out of nowhere and get worse. Knock on wood, as of today I do not see any lesions and never have, so I know my presentation is very atypical but I know things are getting worse.

I persisted in going to the gyn. My gyn actually did not want to see me as a patient anymore because after many exams by himself and his NP, finding nothing visual (while I cringed from the pain during palpation) he thought it was psychosomatic or an allergic reaction to detergent (why are gyns so quick to suggest that)! It was a gyn-onco who finally ran a herpeselect which, to my complete shock, came up positive.

I believe I was infected a year, or just over a year ago. The only other exposures I could have had was 8 (now 9) years ago in college, or 3 (now 4) years ago, both protected encounters, the latter only twice! I know all it takes is one time but I'd like to think proper and consistent condom usage affords adequate protection. I do not know the HSV status of those two partners. The most recent partner, the one I think infected me, is HSV negative for both types at 8 MONTHS post last exposure with me. I know this is EXCEEDINGLY rare, but I really believe it's from him. I started having problems weeks after sex with him. My question is is it possible to continue to test negative for herpes and never show lesions (so he says) but actually be POSITIVE?

But WHY would my symptoms get worse not better? If I have had this for years without knowing (and testing negative in college!), wouldn't I now be better not worse as my immune system adapts? Why now, when I'm taking better care of myself than I ever have? Why not when I had two neurosurgeries and didn't/couldn't eat for a week? Why not when I had a bad reaction to pre-colonoscopy procedures and dropped almost 10 pounds in three days?

Does anyone else have any input? I can't sleep. I'm so lost and sad over this. I just want to know what happened. I thought I was so careful with testing. Worse, I may have infected a previously-negative partner. I really doubt it because he's had no problems, but he is getting tested now.

Does coconut oil work for visual symptoms only, or can it help with neuralgia? I already have neurological issues...and it's difficult to deal with as it's constant and quite painful.

Thanks.

Re: Questions on ozone therapy and coconut oil

Hi,
I am sorry to hear of your health problems. Since I myself have been through hell and back(maybe) with my health the last 3-4 years, though prior to that I was rarely sick, I can relate to how you must feel.

Some of your symptoms might be because of post herpetic neuralgia and herpes
can strike anytime even if it has laid low for many years before that.
You may have heard of neurontin for nerve pain relief . But I have read several accounts where cayenne pepper really helped with this type of pain.

Though I might be way off base here, maybe you could get tested for the other herpes viruses too. There are actually either 4 or 6 of them other than the well know type 1 and type 2. Some of these other herpes viruses might cause neurological symptoms so maybe you could read up about them online and see if any match your symptoms . And maybe your symptoms are being caused by a combination of pathogens : some bacterial fungal or viral . It has been known to happen. But the good news is that for the vast majority of bacterial and fungal stuff there is medicine to put an end to it for good.
Are you sure your last partner had the HerpesSelect tests done ?
cause the other herpes tests are not totally reliable. And you mentioned having had some colon/neuro surgeries in the past.....
maybe somehow this is playing into your herpes status. If you don't mind, what were your surgeries for, specifically ? (I am just asking as these might yield some pieces to the puzzle).
Look up herpetic neuralgia to see if it covers all your symptpms.

Well, this is all i knew that i thought could help. do look into the cayenne pepper for nerve pain.

Also, there are many herbs that have broad spectrum action against many pathogens. Olive leaf extract, oil of oregano etc are just two.

Echinacea, astralagus, vit c , selenium, mushroom immune support supplements are just some examples that can help boost your immune system and fight an infection.

Good luck !

Regards,
Oasis
