So... I dislike doctors. - Herpes Message Board

Alright, I've been to MULTIPLE doctors trying to get my condition checked out. It's still too early for a blood test, but none of them think theres anything to worry about.
Well... I do.
Everything itches. Pubic area, penis, scrotum... all that. It comes and goes (usually starts when I start working out again...?) and the head of my penis is kind of splotchy red at times. I have no sores nor have I had any. Sometimes it all tingles a little bit...
No doctor will help me out.
What do you guys think? I know you're not doctors or anything, just looking for opinions other than know-it-all docs.

Sounds like you just have a case of jock itch. Try getting some powder for it and if that doesn't work just wait it out. You don't know you have the herp, so it's safe to say you can just use a condom and not tell people you have it (once it's diagnosed you have to tell them!).

That is such bad advice! That is so irresponsible of you to suggest such immoral advise!

Just because he hasn't been diagnosed yet, he IS having symptoms that do correlate with a possible herpes infection. He may have some other illness that may also be infectious and a condom is not full proof for ANY disease. In fact, condoms have not been proven to even protect against getting HPV and definitely not full proof against herpes either! Did ya know that? So a condom is DEFINITELY not an easy way out of ignoring symptoms and preventing spreading diseases and infections! It should not ease your conscience to use a condom. You should abstain from sex until you have a clear diagnosis. Sex is not that important that you can't wait (and you probably don't feel much like having sex anyway in that condition) and it is a dangerous way of making people who are healthy suddenly unhealthy by infecting them with viruses or bacteria.
