Post very confused

Last year i had unprotected sex with a girl twice and later found out that she was positive with genital herpes (assuming type 2 but she was unable to tell me). Two days after the second time, my upper thighs and hips became extreamly soar (with no other noticable symtoms). about two weeks later i noticed a round brouse on my upper hip. it did not hurt but lasted for over 4 months. I saw my regular doctor, she told me the brouse did not look like herpes and didn't mention a culture. She gave me a blood test which came back negative. (this was about 1 month after second possible exposure) No other symtoms were noticed so i was waiting 12-16 weeks to be retested. 14 weeks later i got an open soar on my inner thigh that was moist and quite painfull. It lasted about a week and just faded away. Shortly following that i had irritation between my legs under my testicals. it was like i had a cut or bruse but there was noting there except for some redness. It varied in serverity but never seemed to completelty go away. the irritation seemed to move up to my anus. I have the same type of symptoms there, and it still vary in serverity but never completely go away. I would compare the irritation to a day at the beach with alot of sand in your bathingsuit if you know what i mean! anyway this has been going on for over 7 months, starting 4 months after i may have gotten h. I have had 2 herpeselect tests 1 at 15 weeks and one at six months, had a small soar cultured and been to several doctors. all tests negative but no real answers. I have also been tested for other std's all negative. I was told that i had some yeast in the irritated area but not enough to cause a problem. I have been given anti fungal and steriod creams which didn't seem to do much. at this point i am at a loss. how many more times can i go to the doctor and be told not to worry about it or live with it?? I am looking for some advise!!!!

Maybe you should try getting the western blot through tthe univ. of washington. this is so disconcerting. I mean 6 months out should be definitive but your symptoms are so wierd. I have 3 negative tests up to 12 weeks and am waiting for 120 days to do the final. I hope that I"m done with it at that time. but stories like this are so scarry. good luck.

JBA...sorry to hear that you have symptoms and can't conclude what's really causing them. I would say perhaps you need to get tested once more for herpes..since you know the girl had it. Why did she tell you after sex and not before..how did it finally come up. Also, is there anything else she has..maybe you can probe her to see and that could give you some direction to go in...why in the heck would she have unprotected s*x with you and not tell you about the herpes....uuuuggghhhhh!!!!!!!!

I am really happy to hear back from a few of you guys. Anyway, in regaurds to the western blot, i am yet to find a doctor who will do it for me. I have talked to 2 doctors who are affilliated with herpes based groups. One told me the herpeselect test was really good, and not to look into the w/b. The other looked my lab results from my last 2 tests and told me it was not necessary and would not set up an appontment to see me. The first doctor gave me an exam from across the room and the other told me my situation sounds like an alergic reaction to something!! It's pretty funny that these days i get better service at my car dealer's repair shop!!!!
anyway, i still would like to have the test done, but would like to go to a doctor who is experianced in the process. I have heard that is needs to be done right in order to get the blood across the country in good shape to be tested.
In regaurds to the girl who did this to me, it was my ex-girlfriend. she called me after we broke-up acting like things couldn't be better; so good that i was actually thinking of getting back together. we had sex twice in 6 months and bam, she layed it on me. The best part was her only excuse for having sex with me was being drunk!! well, needless to say, i got a big fat sucker punch right between the eyes. my opinion is it was a mix between mental illness and being ****ed at me for breaking up with her. (what ever happened to sugar in the gastank??) as far as not wearing a condom, from my perspective, we were drunk and there were no condoms around. from her perspective who knows. for all i know she could have been having a full blown o/b.
Anyway, i continue to plug along looking for an answer. Sometimes i wish i would just have a culturable o/b, so at least i would have a definate answer!!! (well, mabee not) Just trying to keep my head up and find the humor in the fing mess!!!
