| more questions about herpes
I've been here before, so I'm sure some of you will recognize me, or at least in the information in my post. It's been quite a while since I last posted though. Anyhow, background info. I've had symptoms of pelvic pain for the last 2 years, tenderness around all of the bones, bruising feeling around vaginal opening, low back pain, all constant for the past 2 years. Been to several doctors who haven't a clue. On top of this, I constantly get small fissures in perineum area at random times. Maybe once a month, once every three months, or three different ones in one week. Saw a gynecologist to ask (again) about a blood test for herpes, and told for the 4th time now (all different doctors) there wasn't any point, as I already have herpes 1 (cold sores) which could cause a false positive for herpes 2. Or I could possibly have genital herpes 1, which still wouldn't give me an answer. This being told by a MD at a University hospital, so I'm inclined to believe her. I was told this wasn't true, that the test is 99.9% accurate or something, but after being told by 4 doctors I'm going to swing their way. I've had two cultures done, both negative. Fissures heal in a day or two if small. If larger 2-3 days. Not normally painful unless i stretch wrong, or urinate on them. I've requested to start Valtrex to see if I notice a decrease in the amount of fissures. Does anyone have any advice or anyone in a similar situation?
