I have always had cold sores as a child my blood results showed I have both HSV 1 IgG = 4.57 and HSV 2 IgG = 1.29. I have never had symptoms down there. Does this mean I really have both or could it just be that I do have HSV 1 and the blood test can not tell the difference? I have herd so many different things. I am 22 years old and have been with my partner for 3 year. He has never had a cold sore from me and no symptoms down there, but does this mean I could have gave it to him?

He Needs To Be Tested. There Are So Many People That Have This And Dont Know It Because They Are Asymptomatic And Show No Out Breaks Or Anything. Thats Why So Many Of Us Have It And Its Now Becoming An Epidemic And They Are Running For A Cure. Get Tested Be Safe

jess, to tell you my honest opinion, who has what really doesn't matter because all you can do is worry when you think the ob will occur. So i think that it has probably already spread back and forth. I say go about your life and not worry and not blame. what we have is what we have. It's good to get paps too because 9 out of 10 women test positive for hpv too. I think it sort of goes alomg with herpes.

I didn't know that stats on getting hpv were that high...9 out of 10?? Anyway, I was tested for that too but negative. But maybe having Type 1 genital is different?? I know that shot is available for younger women but for us mid 30 gals, should we get one too? I didn't even think to ask my gyno...I just know he did the test as well as tested me for everything under the sun and thankfully it all came back neg except for the Type 1 thing.

yes, harley, my gyno said that 90%of women in his waiting room have been exposed and don't know it. thats why they came out with this vaccine.they don't want the next generation to have to deal with this. it's so out of control along with herpes he said. i think that's why some doctors take this so lightly. they see it everyday day in and day out and these women go through the same reactions they see when they have to break it to them. i realy believe that pretty much if you have hepes then you better test for hpv too. i did. i would take that shot if you are lucky enough not to have it
