Type 2 diabetes and herpes - Herpes Message Board

My boyfriend was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I have genital herpes. I wanted to know if ( accidently) he contracted genital herpes what kind ofeffect would it have concerning his type 2 diabetes?

i feel that it depends on his immune system and if he even contracts it or not. I think he would be fine and not hurt his health

hi, my boyfriend has diabeties type 2 and i have herpes type 1 in both places... so far touch wood , he hasnt caught it. his doctor told him that providing he looked after himself, kept his immune system well he should be fine and if he caught it, it would probably be to the same level as i had it.. but until that happens, who knows. we take all the precautions, look after ourselves, trying to both stay healthy and take one day at a time. good luck
