i have just found out i have herpes! shocked and horrified i was woundering will i be able to have sex afterwards without passing it on?

What type did they say you had and how did they test you? Oral or genital?
The first year of having the virus there is lots of 'shedding' meaning the virus is active but you have no obvious symptoms. You can still pass it on when this shedding occurs.
Medications and condoms can help prevent transmission but nothing is 100%.

Hi Bubbles, Yes, life will get back to normal one day and so many people have Herpes. It will calm down and become dormant one day. Your partner prob. has been exposed before and doesn't know it and most people feel the same way you do.

Hello, I am waiting for my igm and igg tests to come in next week. I am nervous. Did you ever have a Doctor visit before and the Doctor(s) told you that you do not have Herpes? I am wondering because that is my case. I had an Urgent Care Doctor and a Family Practitioner Doctor look at my genitals and say that it is not herpes. I am wondering your circumstances?
