"Flu like symptoms" - Herpes Message Board

I have a slightly blocked up nose and a sore throat, slight tenderness on one side of my groin and the glands in my neck are also swollen. Are these the "flu like symptoms" i should be concerned about as a symptom of an initial outbreak of herpes? I do not have a temperature and there is no itching or legions. I had unprotected sex 16 days ago and am freaking out! Thank you.

That is how mine started. I was dx with herpes 4 months ago and had those kind of symptoms myself. I only had 2 tiny blisters on my thigh, but when the dr. examined me I had some inside, too, so you may have some but just not be able to see them. I think you should definitely have it checked out, if only for your peace of mind. Good luck!
