Confused ...Herpes Type II ...Help - Herpes Message Board

I was recently diagnosed for Herpes Type II...I am very confused as i dont have breakouts at all..and they did a blood test and said that is what i have. I am real upset behind that...I am going through a Divorce and dont know if my husband could have gave it too me..or 4yrs ago i had major surgery almost died and lost 2liters of blood had to have a blood transfusion..I am consfused on the whold virus...Could it be possible that i did get the virus from the transfusion? How do u spread the virus only with Outbreaks? If so since i dont get them is it likely that i will never spread it..? Was the blood test accureate; as i heard they are more accurate with the breakouts? Should i get a second opion?

this is a skin to skin contact disease so getting it from a transfusion is not possible. you probably are a assymptomatic person and dont show signs of herpes but can spread it. this is a very coontagious disease and you should download the herpes handbook for free on the web it will help with all the questions you may have. you can also get the bloodtest results and numbers and ask your doctor if this is a new infection or has it been dormant in the body for so long. they can look at the numbers and narrow it down. good luck
