My partner and I both have herpes. When one of us is having an outbreak can we spread it to the other by having sex?

Your referring to you both have genital herpes?

If this is the case then you do not spread it back and forth.
Once you have it you have it. Your not transmitting it each time when there is an outbreak.

That's exactly what I needed to know. We have had H for a year, neither one of us has had an OB since the original one....until I showed up with a bump a few days ago. I was just worried that if we had sex that he would get an OB too.

It's hard to say, the chance is slim but it's still possible. Try to use a condom!
