Smile my type 1 is 5.00 & my type 2 is 4.10! When was i infected?

I have heard that the higher the numbers on a blood test the longer that a person has type 1 or 2 herpes!

My numbers for my std test for herpes type 1 was: @ 5.00 & herpes type 2 @ 4.10

i tested postive for type 1 on june 2008. Then when i tested on jan 16 thats when i was postive for both type 1 & 2! On jan 16th my numbers were type 1 @ 5.00 & herpes type 2 @ 4.10.

John & i have been having sex for about a year now. The last time we had sex was on nov of 2008.

I had sex with Jeff on jan 1st of 2009. Now with this being stated i dont think its possible to have this high of numbers 2 weeks after having sex with jeff.

Like i stated in my first sentense the higher the numbers the longer i have been infected for.

Please give me your opinions on what you think. And also explaine on the numbers to. Cause i dont quite get on the numbers. I have heard that if the numbers are over 3.50 thats a postive for sure! If the numbers are under 3.50 its possible of a false positive or false negative!

<I have heard that the higher the numbers on a blood test the longer that a person has type 1 or 2 herpes!>

The numbers really don't mean anything other than positive or negative. Most people get type 1 (oral cold sores) as a child. When tested as an adult their numbers are not 85 or anything. So the longer you have it does not make the numbers go up.

<i tested postive for type 1 on june 2008. Then when i tested on jan 16 thats when i was postive for both type 1 & 2! On jan 16th my numbers were type 1 @ 5.00 & herpes type 2 @ 4.10.>

Were you tested for type 2 in June? If that number was negative then turned positive in Jan. you could guess you got it between Jun 08 and Jan 09.

<I have heard that if the numbers are over 3.50 thats a postive for sure! If the numbers are under 3.50 its possible of a false positive or false negative!>

Doctors will usually recommend additional testing if the numbers are below 3.5. Greater than 3.5 is a clear positive.

Have either of your partners been tested? If John has it and Jeff doesn't then you kind of know which partner potentially gave it to you. Also do you remember ever having symptoms of genital herpes? Yeast/urine infections, flu like symptoms? That could help you nail down the 'when'.

See thats the thing ive never had flue symtems at all. Thats what i find weird. Both dudes have not been tested. Jeff is denying it & doug is scared to get tested on his parents insurance cause he dont want his parents finding out he may have it.

Most people with herpes never get the flu symptoms. For the great majority of people with herpes symptoms are mild to unnoticeable. Some may get fever and flu like symptoms with the first outbreak but not everyone.
