plz help

i am a male,24yrs old.i have been having genital herpes since 4 yrs now.my marriage is fixed for august of this year.i have told my fiancee about my condition.we would like to know if it is possible for us to have a healthy baby.plz help..

Yeah, sure. There's a problem if the mother is having an attack at the time of the birth - but that's dealt with by her having a cesarian.

Congratulations for the wedding.

As far as I understand.. The baby wont be in any danger UNLESS your wife has an active infection when she gives birth because the infection is transmitted as the child moves through the birth canal. IF this would happen, they take the baby by c-section (to avoid the birth canal and transmission) to prevent blindness. Other than that I don't ever recall hearing anything negative about one or two herpes parents giving birth. Good Luck!

I've since read that it can be dangerous (to the baby) when the mother first contracts herpes during her last trimester. Just wanted to let you know.
